Dear Indivisible Kensington,

We’re still here for now. A few of our members have joined with Robin and Barbara to discuss how we build and expand a Leadership Team, and what the roles and responsibilities of such a team would be. At this point, we’re moderately optimistic that we can keep operating in one fashion or another. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, there are important actions each of us can take. We know we say this frequently, but these past two weeks have been a killer, between Venezuela and Minneapolis and everything in between. We need to keep the pressure up.

On Tuesday, January 20, at 2 PM, join with other Kensington residentsat the corners of Arlington and Amherst with signs, bubbles, balloons, music, songs, and noisemakers to reject what’s going on now and express our joy in joining together to work for the common good. There will be a DIY sign station at the bus stop near the gas station, starting at 1:30, if you don’t have your own. 

Note: This is part of a nationwide Free America campaign sponsored by the Women’s March and 50501 and others to mark our resolve on the anniversary of Trump’s second inauguration to walk away from fascism, walk towards a free American, and fight for a future that belongs to all of us.

Call and Email Senators Padilla and Schiff and Representative Garamendi:

1.  The coalition behind ICE Out For Good is following our historic weekend of action by flooding Congress with calls demanding that they use the upcoming Homeland Security funding bill to rein in ICE. 

2.  Last week, the House voted to restore the Affordable Care Act subsidies that Trump made lapse last year, leading to skyrocketing healthcare premiums for millions of Americans. Now the Senate must do the same.  

3.  We have to make sure our opposition to Trump’s global gangsterism is loud, constant, and everywhere. Let our Members of Congress know that we demand respect for the sovereignty of all nations and an end to the US war on Venezuela.
